Denver Ronald McDonalds House:32 Years of Helping Families in Crisis:
Being alone in the hospital can be a traumatic experience, especially for children. And more than ever before, children in need of emergency treatment are being brought to Denver from rural Colorado and bordering states for expert medical care.
For the past three decades, Ronald McDonald House® Charities of Denver has offered a loving home-away-from-home to families needing to be near their seriously ill or injured children while they’re being treated at metropolitan area hospitals.

2011 Shamrock Food Show – Denver
What a great experience for our staff to attend the annual Shamrock Food Show. As always, this is a special event each year in support of Shamrock Foods and the restaurant industry of Denver.
This year’s Shamrock show was again, a great success. BEC was able to talk with many new potential clients and to make sure all of our current clients are well taken care of.
Customer service is always the primary goal of BEC! Attending these types of shows and events is very important to our company and we will always be there for our clients to answer any questions they may have on the Aloha System, service and support.
Thank You to all who attended the show and discussed the Aloha System with us.
Give us a call for any questions.
Thank You

User Group at the Hyatt Huntington Beach
This year’s User Group conference was held at the Hyatt Huntington Beach in mid July. Many different courses were offered on the both Aloha and MenuLink products that are currently in general release for the public and quite a few new ones that will be coming soon. The highlights included a real time data application for smart phones….everything you could want to know about your business from the palm of your hand down to ticket level detail. Also coming is MyFavEats – a new application that will soon allow Aloha Loyalty customers to access their rewards information from the smart phone as well. On the MenuLink side Radiant has added new functionality to the Labor Scheduler that allows an employee’s schedule to be sent electronically to their phone via text or in an email any time a new schedule is created or modified. The employees can also print their schedule from the Aloha front of house with version 6.7 and higher or make changes to their cell phone or email information. Keep an eye out for the BEC newsletter for release of these new features.

Project Management Presentation by Rob Barron – BECPOS

BECPOS Manager Rob Barron was asked by Radiant to put a class together on the topic of Project Management and to perform this class at Tech Fest this year.
It was a standing room only crowd and the after presentation the comments were outstanding.
Rik Reinhardt and his team took 1st out of 20 teams this year in the group competitions and Jesse Hutchinson’s team took 3rd.
TechFest is the Aloha version of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES); Aloha resellers send their technicians to learn about new features and new processes as well as to mix and mingle with other Aloha techs that face the same challenges they do.
This year’s TechFest was held June 10th-13th in Westin’s Briarwood resort located in Frisco, Tx, a bustling suburb of Dallas. As in years past, BEC sent four employees to learn as much as possible about the latest & greatest in products, support and repair from Aloha.
BEC’s own Operations Manager, Rob Barron, was asked to give a presentation on the art of POS Project Management, a version of the same presentation he will deliver at the Retail Service Providers Association (RSPA) later this summer (ßadd link). The slideshow and information was such a huge success, the training room was standing room only, with a number of people standing in the hallway to watch. Radiant has already asked Rob to plan on deliver more info at next year’s TechFest, promising a larger classroom and more session times.
No TechFest would be complete without a skills competition and this year was no exception. The skills focus was on installing, configuring and training two new Aloha products, Aloha Takeout (ATO) (ßadd link) and Aloha Guest Manager (AGM) (ßadd link). Broken into 20 teams ranging from 4-7 people, the teams had two, four hour sessions to complete the required tasks. Rik Reinhardt’s team (from BEC’s Implementation Department) took first place and Jesse Hutchinson’s team (also from BEC’s Implementation Department) took third place. For their efforts, they and their teammates were awarded a 8gb iPod Touch and a $50 Best Buy Gift Card.
Leave it to BEC techs to show the rest of the Aloha world how it’s done!
MS Walk from Andrea H – Thank You BEC
Each year thousands of individuals, families and friends join together to participate in one of the Walk MS events held throughout Colorado and Wyoming to move toward a world free of MS. Walk MS, hosted by the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter of the National MS Society, is a simple, but incredibly powerful way to raise money to support the multitude of essential programs, services, and research funding the Colorado-Wyoming Chapter provides as well as sharing in the hope for the future. Walk Day is a day that brings friends, families, and coworkers together, to be together, to join the movement together for a common cause. We walk together to make a powerful statement, and to keep moving toward a cure. Each step we take brings us closer to a world free of MS. Walk routes vary in distance from one to five miles, and know that we are there with you every step of the way.
Over a year ago my best friend of 16 years; Tiffany Wilson-Tunelius; was diagnosed with MS. She has been under going weekly treatments for over a year now, and with the help of the National MS Society has been able to continue living a fulfilling life and take care of her 3 year old daughter Natalie Grace.
This year the walk was held at Denver City Park on Saturday May 7th. Myself, Tiffany, and her step father; Rick Bradshaw, formed a participating Walk team for the 5k walk. We were able to raise a cumulative $1050 in just 7 days; with BEC employees contributing $245, and a BEC match of $245.
BEC – Thank you for your support and donations this weekend!
